ZUS to Refund 2 Billion PLN in Overpaid Health Contributions

Poland's ZUS social insurance agency has settled 2024 health contribution accounts for 2.5 million of the 2.8 million self-employed required to file. Most are owed refunds totalling around 2 billion PLN, while over half a million entrepreneurs face additional payments. Tax advisers say the system is too complex and unpredictable and should be simplified.
