ZUS pays 400 zł instead of 800 plus — when do you receive only half?

Poland's 800 plus child benefit is paid within the settlement period running from 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027, but some recipients receive only 400 zł — half the full amount. ZUS pays the reduced amount primarily in cases of alternating custody, where each parent receives 400 zł. This applies when child care is split between two parents by court order or agreement.
