Oklahoma palaeontologists find soft tissue in a 450-million-year-old crinoid fossil

Scientists at the University of Oklahoma have discovered perfectly preserved soft tissue inside a crinoid fossil approximately 450 million years old — more than 200 million years older than the dinosaurs. Researchers describe this type of find as a once-in-a-million discovery. The preservation offers a rare window into the biology of early Palaeozoic marine invertebrates.
