Poland faces priest shortage – retirees stay on, African clergy may be imported
The number of newly ordained priests in Poland is steadily falling, forcing dioceses to keep clergy past retirement age and assign one priest to multiple parishes. Experts warn that without structural change, the Polish Church will need to import priests from countries such as those in Africa. The problem is now affecting a growing number of dioceses nationwide.
