VAT surging across Central Europe while labour taxes range from 13% to 50%

Central and Eastern Europe is experiencing the biggest wave of VAT increases in years, according to a comparative analysis of the region's tax systems. At the same time, labour taxation diverges sharply across the region, ranging from 13% to nearly 50%. Poland sits in the middle of the pack on both VAT rates and the overall tax wedge.
