Nine nations join Ukraine's Freyja interceptor coalition, targeting operational use within a year

Nine European countries have joined Ukraine in a coalition to accelerate production of the Freyja interceptor system, Ukraine's domestically built alternative to the Patriot missile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced at a defence meeting in France on Monday. The goal is to have the system operational within one year. The initiative was launched in response to a global shortage of anti-ballistic interceptors worsened by the ongoing war in Iran.
