Russia's Fuel Crisis Hits Hospitals and Emergency Services

Russia's deepening fuel crisis is now hitting state institutions directly. According to the newspaper Izvestia, the number of cancelled, failed or re-tendered fuel procurement contracts for hospitals, municipal services and emergency services tripled in May–June 2026 compared to the same period last year. Medical and emergency services are struggling to secure adequate petrol and diesel supplies.
