Brazil's Lula Calls It a Disgrace: Only One Player Flew Home on Federation Charter After World Cup

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sharply criticised the national football squad's behaviour after returning from the 2026 World Cup in the USA. Only one of the 26 called-up players used the federation's official charter flight home, with the rest travelling privately. Lula called the situation a disgrace and a source of national shame.
