US Navy Begins Maritime Blockade of Iran on July 14
The U.S. Navy-led Joint Maritime Information Center announced a full maritime blockade of Iran effective Tuesday, July 14, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time. The blockade covers all Iranian ports, oil terminals and coastal areas and applies to vessels of any flag. Ships attempting to enter or leave the blockaded zone without authorisation may be intercepted, diverted or stopped by force. Neutral transit through the Strait of Hormuz to non-Iranian destinations will not be affected.
