Energy Certificate Now Mandatory for Home Sales and Rentals — Fine Up to PLN 5,000

An energy performance certificate has become mandatory for all property owners in Poland when selling or renting a home or flat. Failure to provide the document during a transaction can result in a fine of up to PLN 5,000. Previously the requirement applied mainly to new buildings, but the obligation has now been extended to a much broader group of owners.
