97% of ZUS workers vote for strike over 1,200 PLN pay rise demand

Over 21,000 ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) employees — around 97% of those who voted — backed a strike in a referendum, announced Piotr Szumlewicz of the Związkowa Alternatywa union. Workers are demanding a basic salary increase of 1,200 PLN. ZUS spokesperson Karol Poznański dismissed the referendum as irrelevant.
