32 mysterious Ice Age symbols may be humanity's oldest communication system
Alongside famous cave paintings of bison, horses and mammoths, researchers across Europe have identified 32 recurring geometric symbols — lines, dots, triangles, grids, zigzags and Y-shaped marks — scratched onto prehistoric cave walls. For over a century they were dismissed as decorative elements, but a growing number of scientists now believe they may represent humanity's oldest known communication system.
