Linette beaten in WTA Athens first round by Hontama 4:6, 5:7

Poland's Magda Linette, the eighth seed at the WTA tournament in Athens, was eliminated in the first round by Japan's Mai Hontama, losing 4:6, 5:7. It is the second consecutive first-round exit for Linette, who also lost in the opening round at Wimbledon just weeks ago. She is set to compete next in Prague.
