Witcher lead designer: sex cards "did not work" but he's not ashamed of them

Artur Ganszyniec, lead story designer of the original 2007 Witcher game, says the infamous collectible sex cards "did not work" as intended, though he is not ashamed of them. CD Projekt Red chose the card system because romance was essential to the Witcher lore but the studio lacked the resources to produce full animated love scenes. Modern RPGs like Baldur's Gate 3 now feature elaborate NSFW cutscenes that were simply beyond the studio's means at the time.
