UK bans Iran's Revolutionary Guards, threatens life sentences for support

The UK government announced it will proscribe Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a banned organisation. Anyone found supporting or assisting the IRGC could face a life sentence. Iran's ambassador was summoned to the British Foreign Office in response to the move.
