Australia banned vape ads two years ago — illegal promotions still flood TikTok and Instagram

More than two years after Australia banned vape advertising, illegal sellers are still promoting nicotine products on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, a Guardian Australia investigation has found. Experts say the platforms "aren't doing the job they promised they would do" and are calling for stronger penalties. A network of posts promoting illegal products to Australian audiences was identified across all three platforms.
