Russian firms charged for every employee not sent to fight in Ukraine

Local authorities across Russia are pressuring companies to pay a fee for the right to keep their employees out of military service in Ukraine. The system is reportedly being rolled out nationwide as an additional tool to pressure businesses into supplying army recruits. The financial levy is imposed at the regional government level.
