LAPD drops Flock Safety contract over civil liberties concerns

The Los Angeles Police Department has ended its contract with surveillance company Flock Safety, one of the largest government customers the firm had. LAPD cited "serious concerns" over civil liberties and privacy as the reason for letting the contract expire. Flock Safety is best known for its automated licence plate reader camera networks used by law enforcement across the US.
