Study: adult faces match their names more than chance would predict
Researchers have found that a person's name can influence the appearance of their face over time, in a phenomenon sometimes called the "Dorian Gray effect." The study used human perception tests and machine-learning algorithms, which matched adult faces to their names with above-chance accuracy. The findings suggest that social expectations tied to a given name shape facial expression and appearance throughout a lifetime.
