Turkey orders arrest of nearly 1,000 suspected Gülen movement members
Turkish prosecutors on Monday ordered the arrest of nearly 1,000 people suspected of ties to the movement of cleric Fethullah Gülen, whom Ankara blames for the 2016 coup attempt. Justice Minister Akin Gurlek announced the operation. It is the latest in a series of mass crackdowns against members of the group Turkey designates as a terrorist organisation, known as FETO.
