Young men report more sextortion than any other age group, Australian regulator finds

Australia's online safety regulator eSafety has found that young men report sextortion more than any other age group, with over 2,000 complaints filed in just six months last year. The regulator's transparency report identifies "significant gaps" in how major tech platforms — including Apple, Meta, Google, Microsoft, Snap, Discord and WhatsApp — tackle online sexual exploitation and child sexual abuse. Reports of such abuse continue to rise.
