London flat white hits £6.50 as coffee prices surge

Coffee prices in the UK are soaring, with a flat white now costing up to £6.50 in some London cafés, mirroring the earlier shock of pints hitting £10 in the capital. Experts blame higher energy bills driven by the Middle East conflict, as well as government tax and wage increases filtering through to consumers. Meanwhile, Brent crude jumped 3% amid US-Iran tensions, though it remains below $80 a barrel, while European shares edged up and South Korea's Kospi fell nearly 10%.
