EU to impose 13+ age limit for unsupervised social media access

The European Commission announced plans to impose a minimum age of 13 for children to access social media without parental supervision. Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented a report from an expert panel recommending that under-13s should only have time-limited, supervised access to social platforms. The move is part of the EU's long-running push to address the mental and physical health risks social media pose to minors.
