16–17 July 2026: Moon, Venus and Regulus align in rare triple conjunction

On the nights of 16 and 17 July 2026, sky-watchers will be able to observe a rare triple conjunction of the Moon (just past new moon phase), Venus and the star Regulus appearing close together in the sky. No specialist equipment is needed — clear skies are sufficient to enjoy the sight. The spectacle will be enhanced by the Moon's "earthshine," making it especially photogenic.
