Stephen Chow's "Kung Fu Soccer" opens at No. 1 globally with $73.8 million debut

Stephen Chow's "Gong fu nv zu" (Kung Fu Soccer), a female-led spin-off of his cult 2001 hit "Shaolin Soccer," debuted at No. 1 at the global box office with $73.8 million in its opening weekend. It is Chow's first film in seven years. The comedy is on track to become the second highest-grossing Chinese film of the year.
