Queensland unlawfully held children in adult watch house without private toilet access
A Queensland tribunal has ruled that the state broke the law and violated the human rights of three children by detaining them in an adult-only watch house in Cairns without private toilet access or clean clothes. The three teenagers, aged between 13 and 17, were held separately between June 2021 and 2022. The state has been ordered to issue an apology following the ruling.
