Fire tears through Fontainebleau forest near Paris, 400 firefighters deployed

A fire broke out on Sunday in the Fontainebleau forest in the Île-de-France region, known as the "lungs of greater Paris," prompting the deployment of around 400 firefighters. The blaze struck just ahead of France's July 14 national holiday and the first major summer holiday departure weekend. Train services were disrupted and several highways in the Paris region were forced to close.
