Trump threatens Spain despite relying on key US military bases there

Donald Trump has openly criticised NATO ally Spain, even though some of the most strategically important US military bases in Europe are located on Spanish soil, including Rota and Morón de la Frontera. Without access to those facilities, American operations in the region would be severely hampered. Madrid thus holds significant leverage in any dispute with Washington.
