Survey: 66% of Europeans say making new friends is harder than it used to be

A WeRoad survey of 5,000 people across Spain, Italy, France, Germany and the UK found that 66% believe meeting new people is harder than a few years ago, and 84% say forming close bonds now requires significantly more effort. Over half of respondents are dissatisfied with their social lives, citing lack of time (33%), hesitation to make the first move (25%) and social anxiety (21%). One in five also reported feeling deeply lonely. The study suggests that group travel helps break down these barriers.
