39.7m of 42.2m zł spent by PiS-era cultural institute deemed irregular by tax authority
Poland's tax authority found that 94.09% — or 39.7 million out of 42.2 million zł — of public funds spent by the Institute of National Thought Heritage between 2020 and 2023 were irregularly used. The money was supposed to fund a museum that has never been built. The institute also purchased memorabilia purportedly linked to Ignacy Paderewski that turned out to have no connection to the composer.
