Japan's Lawson convenience store tests stablecoin JPYC payments

Japanese convenience store chain Lawson has launched a pilot programme for stablecoin payments using JPYC, a yen-pegged stablecoin. The proof-of-concept involves telecommunications giant KDDI and crypto wallet company HashPort. It marks one of the first real-world tests of stablecoin-based payments in Japanese retail.
