UK's May–June Heatwaves Killed an Estimated 2,700+ People

Early estimates suggest that more than 2,700 people may have died from heat-related causes during the UK's exceptionally hot weather in May and June. The heatwaves were described as exceptional for that time of year and broke records. The figures are preliminary and subject to revision. It is one of the worst heat-related health crises in British history.
