Nawrocki on Volhynia anniversary: Poland will not allow victims to be forgotten
President Karol Nawrocki spoke on the 82nd anniversary of the Volhynia massacre, declaring that Poland will not accept any attempt to erase the memory of the Polish victims. The Volhynia massacre, carried out by the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) in 1943–1945, claimed between 60,000 and 100,000 Polish lives. The anniversary remains a sensitive point in Polish-Ukrainian relations.
