Iran Expands Attacks on Gulf States After Intense US Strikes

Iran conducted strikes on two of its southern islands on Sunday evening, while Kuwait reported attacks on border posts and an offshore oil platform — venues Tehran has repeatedly targeted in strikes on US installations. The strikes were not officially claimed by any party. Earlier the same day, Iran and the US issued contradictory statements over whether the Strait of Hormuz was open to traffic.
