Van der Poel Wins Shortened Tour Stage 9 in 40°C Heat
Mathieu van der Poel won the ninth stage of the 2026 Tour de France, which was cut short by 30km due to extreme heat reaching 40°C. The stage ran from Malemort to Ussel. Race organisers shortened the route in response to the health risks posed by the temperatures.
