Hyundai Dynasty, Grandeur and Equus paved the way for the Genesis brand

The Genesis luxury brand owes much of its success to earlier Hyundai models — the Dynasty, Grandeur and Equus — which built the Korean manufacturer's credentials in the premium segment before Genesis was spun off as a standalone marque. Today Genesis competes directly with European and Japanese luxury brands.
