Miner wins ZUS court battle after 18 years — gets 18,000 zł and higher pension

A former miner won a nearly 18-year court battle against Poland's Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) over his pension amount. The court ruled in his favour, awarding him 18,000 zł in compensation and increasing his monthly benefit. The ruling could affect up to 200,000 people who took early retirement and may have been similarly underpaid by ZUS.
