Gut microbiome changes may signal type 2 diabetes years before diagnosis
Researchers at Chalmers University of Technology found that gut microbiome changes occur several years before the onset of type 2 diabetes. The discovery could allow at-risk individuals to be identified and helped well before the disease develops. This represents a potentially major advance in early prevention of one of the world's most common metabolic conditions.
