Extensive training physically rewires the brain to enable true multitasking

Researchers found that extensive practice physically reorganises the brain, causing learned tasks to bypass the prefrontal cortex and run through specialised neural circuits instead. This frees the brain's "thinking centre" to handle a second task simultaneously, enabling genuine multitasking rather than the rapid task-switching scientists previously believed was the limit of human cognition.
