Warmia and Mazury on screen: from Polański's 'Knife in the Water' to Coben-style thrillers
The Warmia and Mazury region in north-eastern Poland has long been a favourite location for filmmakers. Roman Polański shot his debut feature "Knife in the Water" (1961) on Lake Kisajno, while Jerzy Kawalerowicz filmed scenes for "Pharaoh" (1964) on Lake Kirsajty. The region also serves as a backdrop for modern thriller series in the style of Harlan Coben.
