Chwalińska withdraws from Iași WTA 250 — another Polish player enters the draw

Maja Chwalińska suffered an injury at Wimbledon at match point, then withdrew from doubles and from the WTA 250 tournament in Iași, Romania, where she could have been seeded first. Her withdrawal, however, opened a direct main-draw spot for another Polish player. It had previously appeared that no Polish woman would qualify directly for the Iași singles draw.
