Łukasiewicz's Volhynia speech sparks outrage; Sikorski defends him

Piotr Łukasiewicz, Poland's chargé d'affaires in Ukraine, attended the 83rd anniversary commemorations of the Volhynia massacre in Ołyka and delivered a speech that provoked anger among right-wing politicians, some diplomats and journalists. Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski came to his defence in a brief three-sentence statement. Critics accuse the diplomat of moral equivalence and inadequate solemnity at the historic ceremony.
