Dog and cat tax in Poland — who must pay and how much?
In Poland, a dog ownership tax is optional — each municipality decides independently whether to introduce it and at what rate, with the maximum set annually by the Finance Minister, rising by up to 4.5% in 2025. There is no legal cat tax in Poland. The levy applies only to dogs, and owners of assistance dogs or registered breeders may be exempt.
