Actor Micheal Ward unanimously acquitted of rape charges
Actor Micheal Ward, known for the series "Top Boy" and winner of the BAFTA Rising Star award, was unanimously acquitted of rape and sexual assault charges. The 28-year-old had been accused of raping a woman in the back of a car after meeting her at a New Year's party in London in January 2023. His defence lawyer Humzah Ilyas stated that Ward had maintained from the start that the encounter was consensual.
