Dwayne Johnson on Polynesian Representation in Disney's Live-Action "Moana"
At the premiere of Disney's live-action "Moana," Dwayne Johnson said that growing up he never saw himself represented on screen, recalling that as an 8-year-old he admired Harrison Ford in "Indiana Jones" but that character didn't look like him. The film's creatives worked closely with Polynesian communities to honour their culture and traditions. Authentic representation was a central priority throughout the production.
