EU Commissioner: Brussels powerless to stop physical game disc abandonment
The European Commission admitted it has no legal tools to force publishers to maintain physical game releases. A commissioner said outright that Sony waited for Rockstar to make the first move away from disc-based games before following suit. An industry veteran sharply criticised the approach taken by the companies.
