Obsidian is making a new Fallout game instead of an Avowed sequel

Bloomberg reports that Obsidian Entertainment is developing a new Fallout game, following a new entry in the series. The project is being built in place of an Avowed sequel that had entered early development but was cancelled amid major layoffs at Obsidian and its parent company Xbox. Fans of Fallout: New Vegas have been waiting for a follow-up for over 15 years.
