Jayden Adams, a Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder who represented South Africa at this year's World Cup, has died aged 25. He started the group-stage opener — a 2-0 defeat by Mexico — and the 1-1 draw with Czechia, then came off the bench in the 1-0 win over South Korea. South Africa were eliminated in the last 32 by Canada, a match Adams did not feature in.
