Bartoszewski: Ukraine should reckon with Volhynia as Poland did with Jedwabne
Deputy Foreign Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski said on Saturday that Poland expects Ukraine to confront its past over the Volhynia massacres in the same way that Poland faced its own guilt over the Jedwabne pogrom. The comparison was made in the context of an ongoing diplomatic dispute sparked by President Zelensky naming a military unit after UPA heroes. Bartoszewski stressed the need for mutual historical accountability between the two allied nations.
