US backs new Russia sanctions targeting buyers of Russian oil and gas, including EU states

The White House has agreed to back a new sanctions bill targeting Russia and the countries still purchasing Russian oil and gas. The list of affected nations includes China, India and Turkey, as well as EU members France, Hungary and Slovakia. The measures are designed to cut off Kremlin revenues funding the war in Ukraine.
